Nearly Three Years After Crash, Tampa Man Charged With DUI Manslaughter

A 21-year-old Tampa man has been charged with DUI manslaughter nearly three years following a Jackson County crash according to a story on newsherald.com. Adam Jablonski was 19-years-old when he crossed into the southbound lane on County 167 in Marianna and hit 69-year-old William Barnes head-on. Barnes was not wearing his seat belt and died due to the collision.

The case was lingering for years in the Jackson County State Attorney’s office but earlier this month the state attorney did file DUI manslaughter charges. State Attorney Glenn Hess said there were a dozen or so homicide cases he needed to deal with before moving on to other pending cases. Jablonski turned himself in and was released on his own recognizance.
