The popular Irish pub located right on South Howard Avenue is packed to the brim with patrons every weekend but no bar does a better job at combating drunk driving in Tampa as MacDinton’s, that is according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office.
MacDinton’s was named the most responsible alcohol vendor by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s department. The pub was presented the award Tuesday afternoon. According to TampaBay.com the sheriff’s honored the Irish pub for its efforts to reduce drunk driving by its South Tampa patrons.…

Fighting Drunk Driving Gets South Tampa Bar Recognized By Hillsborough County SheriffsEarly this morning police spotted a SUV driving very slowly with its lights off. The officers suspected DUI and attempted to pull the Kia Sorento over. At that point the car stopped but as soon as officers exited their vehicle 26-year-old Eric Lee Peoples took off. The officer did not chase the car due to department policy on pursuits. They did however have the man suspected of drunk driving followed by a helicopter in the area. March 18, 2010

Tampa DUI Charges Filed Against NY Yankee ExecutiveOne of the top executives with the New York Yankees was arrested Monday night on charges of a Tampa DUI. According to records obtained from Hillsborough County, Yankees’ senior vice president of baseball operations Mark Newman was arrested and charged for drunk driving. According to an Associated Press report there is no record that Newman has hired a Tampa DUI Attorney. According to the AP, Newman refused a breath test and was taken to jail. He was released on $500 bail.
