DUI charges have been filed against a University of Tampa student stemming from a Davis Island accident in November. Blood test results taken at the time of the DUI crash registered Michael Louis-Fernand’s blood-alcohol level at .13 and .140. A passenger in the back seat of the car suffered a broken back and lacerated liver.
The 20-year-old UT student was booked in downtown Tampa today. The accident was the result of Louis-Fernand speeding on West Davis Boulevard. He lost control of his Volkswagen and hit a concrete wall. There was one other person in the car at the time of the crash.
